Briana Williams Added to Jamaica's Pan American U-20 TeamPublished by
Briana Williams' Summer to Continue with Pan American U-20 Athletics ChampionshipsBy Adam Kopet The Jamaica Observer reports Briana Williams has been added to the Jamaican team that will compete this week at the Pan American U-20 Athletics Championships in San Jose, Costa Rica. Williams, who recently finished her junior year at Northeast (Oakland Park) FL, raced sparingly for her high school team to focus on summer races and beyond. Thus far, that strategy has paid off. Williams finished third in the 100 meters at the Jamaican National Championships, running a high school and Jamaican U-20 record of 10.94. More recently, she won the 100 meters at the NACAC U-18 Championships in Queretaro, Mexico in 11.11. Last year, Williams won the 100 and 200 meters at the IAAF World U-20 Championships in Tampere, Finland. Williams is expected to compete in the 100 meters and as a member of Jamaica's 4x100 relay team at the Pan American U-20 Athletics Championships. She spent this past weekend at a training camp in Kingston, Jamaica, to prepare. More news |
